Neo-Victorian: 'Gothic Overbust Victorian style Corset' by Sidney Eileen at Bustledress

Victorian silhouette meets Baroque extravaganza pattern, in a beautiful, rich red colour. Rarely do I see an overbust corset which really sets me on fire, and this one here hit the mark. Both versions (black satin ribbon or red satin ribbon, that is) work very nicely, but I think the full red is even more striking than the other for some reason.

Handmade and highly costly, here.

Corporate Goth: 'Mini Skirt 52-005-00' at the Gothic Factory

This is one of those pieces which may take some time to win me over, but eventually they do, and this one did it with the fairly interesting contrast between pleated and flat fabric. I think the cobweb hugging the hips is quite sweet. Not sure if there is any need to accentuate one's buttocks by those two lacings in the back, but they don't look too bad, either.

EGA: 'Aristocrat Gothic False 2pcs Vest Coat' at Fanplusfriend

This is, as the name informs us, a false two-piece, which I find a tad strange, but then again the pieces are flawless together (save for the back, for there seems to be something strange going on there); separates would simply add to the versatility of use. Of course what one chooses to wear underneath is the deciding factor.

The trimmings give this piece a bit of a pirate look, especially in gold as in the picture - the ensemble comes in various colours including plum and grey, and the trimmings can be either golden, silvery or black.

Neo-Medieval: 'Mittelalterrock Mr-S 10' at Noctifer

The sleek shape works beautifully with the panels of red and black, and there is enough cloth in the hem for it to cascade freely - I mention this because so many Medieval Gothic full-length dresses and skirts spare the fabric and spoil the garment. Applause for these people for doing it right. The top is very attractive, too.

Punk: 'Top Handmade Punk' at Bizzare

The fact that this top is handmade does, I think, somehow add to its Punk cred quite a bit, although I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly why that is. Surprisingly regular though the pattern is, it's also got that feel of ripping and tearing and then gluing back together, which suits the style so well. I also appreciate this top for having a simple cut and a clean silhouette and lacking any things that dangle in the air - in Punk, those are what you are supposed to add yourself. I'm no judge, of course, it's just my feeling.

Found here. (A T-shirt as well as a tank top version in addition to this one are also available.)

Fail: 'Blooming Rose (Black)' Dress by Criminal Damage

This dress isn't just a shapeless mess, it's a highly misleading shapeless mess -- the moment I saw the thumbnail I though, not having paid attention to the name of the garment, "Ahh, the print of this dress is depicting innards! Look, it's got the spleen and bowels and everything!", and then I clicked the thumbnail and was sorely disappointed to see that it was, in fact, just an incredibly messy, troubled wannabe Rockabilly print. No zombie aesthetics for me, this time, which is a shame because that I would have understood somehow.

Perhaps someone out there thinks the world of exactly what we see above, but I have to admit I sincerely doubt it. Found here.

Gothic Lolita: 'Lolita Kawaii Dress' at Black Swan

A note for the manufacturers of this dress: Try to think of a name for it next time, please. Apart from that little annoyance, this dress is very attractive, and I find that separation of black and white sections refreshing. The embroidery across the bust adds a charming detail. Very beautiful, indeed. Just... the name. Please.

Rocker: 'Red Tartan Smock Dress' by Darkside Clothing at Phoenixx Rising

Very cute and uncomplicated, if a little bit uninventive as well. But the print is nifty, and it would be laughably easy to accessorise this dress to match one's personal style. If I may: Wear with combat boots and fishnet tights.

Rave: 'Riot' Trousers by cyberspirit17 at Alienskin Clothing

Yeees. Why not. They look actually kind of comfortable for a sweaty, crowded rave party - there is a reason for wearing light fabric and keeping it baggy.

Rivethead/ Fetish: 'Gloss PVC bondage zips jeans' at Drac-In-A-Box

A better picture would do the trousers more justice, but judging by with what we are given, they seem very stylish, well-proportioned and versatile. I wouldn't recommend wearing them with that top or similar, though.

Gothic: 'Black and White Stripe Zipper Top' at My Little Halo

Fairly basic, but it works. Seems to hold the upper body very nicely, sort of firmly together. The crossing lines break the strict pattern a little bit, although I think they would look even more in place if the vertical stripe under them were completely white so the pattern wouldn't leak from underneath.

Rivethead: 'Raise' Coat at Hors Norm

No additional points for whoever photoshopped this picture (see feet), but putting that aside, this coat has the classical dramatics of original Goths, and the Matrix appeal as loved by Rivetheads with the fasteners and buckles. For such a long coat, this one looks fairly light and therefore very comfortable to wear, too.

Found here. (Site in French.) Also available in cotton, but I cannot say I recommend it.

Hippie/Rave/Cyber: 'Grow. Evolve.' Hoodie by Plazma at Cybershop

A hoodie that does not sag! Incredible. I confess that I own one of these, and can say that it is incredibly comfortable to wear, and I find that print very nearly poetic. "Grow. Evolve." Ah.

I am unable to tag this properly, I find; therefore I resort to tagging it by the styles which the shop generally provides. Feel free to make a suggestion of your own.

Found here. I believe it is also available in brown. I would encourage you to take a closer look at the print, but the additional pictures are actually blurry, the reason for which I completely fail to comprehend.
